My sustained investigation is continued by the painting of a young girl with a crown of flowers in her hair. The original picture is of my sister at around four, and I chose to paint it because it reminded me of my most recent painting. The background, a light blue, becomes so light compared to the dark background of the previous painting. The first girl looks melancholic, but the younger girl is filled with hope and innocence, with a gleam in her eye. Both wear flower crowns, both wear white, which is a symbol of purity.
